How the sync behaves
Appointments created, moved, cancelled or marked as no-shows in Nookal update the matching Gohighlevel contact and appointment within seconds, and bookings taken in Gohighlevel or by a Voice AI agent are written back into Nookal against the right clinic and practitioner.
Because the clinic field syncs alongside practitioner and service, a single workflow can serve several locations and still send patients to the right address.
Security and control
Your Nookal API key is exchanged for a secure Universal Plugins key rather than stored in plain text, data passes through only as long as needed to keep the two systems aligned, and a connection can be revoked from the dashboard at any time.
If a test booking does not appear, check the webhook account, the clinic and practitioner mapping, and whether the custom fields were imported before testing.
Preparing your Nookal account
Decide which locations and practitioners should appear in Gohighlevel before you begin, and note whether classes or group appointments are part of your week, because those affect how appointment types are mapped. Import the appointment custom fields before your first test booking so early appointments carry the values your automations read.
Create one obviously fake test patient using your own mobile number. Being able to book, move and cancel that patient freely is the fastest way to understand what each Nookal change looks like on the Gohighlevel side.
What stays in sync
Contacts, appointments and appointment custom fields are kept aligned in both directions. A booking made at the desk, a rescheduled time, a cancellation or a no-show marked later all reach Gohighlevel within seconds, and appointments created from a Gohighlevel calendar, form or Voice AI agent are written into Nookal against the correct location, practitioner and appointment type.
Because both systems describe the same reality, reminders stop firing for cancelled visits and recalls reference real appointment dates rather than a stale copy.
