Jane App MCP Integration
Enable MCP for Janeapp in Universal Plugins, then paste your server URL, upkey header name and secure token into your voice, chat or agent platform to give it live access to Jane data.
MCP connects an AI agent to Jane App so it can read live availability and manage bookings while it is talking to a patient. The agent authenticates with your secure Universal Plugins key, checks the real Jane diary, and creates, reschedules or cancels appointments against the correct practitioner and treatment.
Add the server URL and authentication header to your Gohighlevel Voice AI or chat agent and the connection is live; no development, middleware or per-call configuration is needed.
Jane App syncs every event type except Jane Event Calendars, so classes and group events stay out of the agent's scope while regular appointments are fully bookable.
What the Jane App MCP connection provides
MCP lets an AI agent work with the live Jane diary during a conversation: identify a patient, read real availability for the right practitioner and treatment, create a booking, reschedule it, or cancel it. The agent authenticates with your secure Universal Plugins key, so access can be revoked from the dashboard at any moment.
Every Jane event type is in scope except Jane Event Calendars, which means one-to-one appointments are fully bookable while group classes and events stay under manual control in Jane.
Setting it up
Enable MCP, then paste the server URL, the authentication header name and your secure key into your Gohighlevel Voice AI or chat agent. There is no development, no middleware and no per-call configuration; the connection is live as soon as the values are saved.
Treat the key like a password: it authorises diary access, and rotating it in the dashboard immediately invalidates the old value.
Testing and going live
Rehearse the full path before the agent takes real calls - request a time you know is booked, request an open one, complete the booking, then cancel it, checking Jane after each step. Problems found this way are obvious; the same problems found in a live call recording rarely are.
Once bookings land in Jane correctly, they sync into Gohighlevel like any other appointment, so confirmations and reminders continue automatically.
What an agent can do once MCP is connected
MCP gives a Gohighlevel Voice AI or chat agent live, permissioned access to your Jane App diary during a conversation. Rather than reading a cached copy of availability, the agent asks the diary in the moment, so the times it offers are times that can actually be booked, and the booking it writes lands against the correct practitioner, discipline and treatment type.
In practice that covers the calls reception spends most of its day on: what is free this week, can I move Thursday to Friday, who do I see for a first visit, and can you book me in. The agent handles those end to end, and everything it creates flows back through the same sync your reminders and follow-ups already use.
Keeping it safe and predictable
Access is scoped to the integration you expose, and the credentials are the secure key issued by Universal Plugins rather than your Jane App API key, so the practice management credential never leaves our processing layer. Requests are transient - nothing about a patient is stored to be reused later.
Test before it takes live calls. Point the agent at your own mobile number, run four or five conversations covering a new booking, a reschedule, a cancellation and a question the agent should refuse to answer, and confirm each one landed correctly in Jane App. Only then move the agent onto the number patients dial.
When something does not respond
If the agent cannot see availability, the cause is nearly always one of three things: the integration was not selected when MCP was enabled, the authentication header was pasted with a missing character, or the server URL points at a different integration than the one you configured. Re-copy both values from the MCP tab, save, and re-run a single test conversation before changing anything else.
